Papier-Ma`ch'e Sombrero's
These were inspired from spanish and mexican craft art. I exposed the student's to many types of paper construction making from latin american culture and the students learned how to construct three-dimentional sculptural forms, from a single balloon and recycled materials. Functional and wearable pieces of art. These completed works of papier-mach'e constructions are hand-crafted and detailed from the creative learning processes through observation, and experimentation of use with applying painting techniques and recycled materials.
The best part of making papier-mach'e is when students participate actively in decorating their works by applying colour and texture. Student's begin to learn three dimensional sculpting and use imaginative painting techniques by observing others, becoming inspried to create fantastic peices of art.
